Obituary of Betty Jane Stoutenger Giuffrida May 15, 2016 Betty Jane (Stoutenger) Giuffrida, 89, of Ira, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 18, 1926, in Fulton, a daughter to the late Floyd and Villa Mangus Stoutenger. Mrs. Giuffrida owned and operated a family farm for years and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier in Hannibal, NY. Over the last several years she enjoyed spending the winters in Zephyrhills, Florida and the summers at home with her family and friends. Mrs. Giuffrida was a member of the Hannibal Lady’s Fire Auxiliary. She was also a member of Cato, Volney and Phoenix Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Rosario A. Giuffrida and brother, Donald Stoutenger. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her two children, Jane (Anthony) Rector of Ogdensburg and Jack (Denise) Giuffrida of Cato and four grandsons, Anthony, Joseph, Austin and Matthew. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal. A service immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal. Burial will be in Ira Union Cemetery, White Cemetery Road, Cato. For those wishing, contributions in Mrs. Giuffrida’s memory may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021.
