Betty L. Ballard

Betty L. (Lenhart) Ballard, 93, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. Born March 9, 1931, in Radium, MN, she was one of 11 children. As an adventurous young lady, she left her small town in Minnesota and moved to Seattle with a friend. She worked there as a telephone operator but wanting a little more adventure, she moved to Los Angeles and found jobs and happiness there. She met the man of her dreams, Donald Ballard, Jr., married and started a family. They moved to Don’s hometown and settled here for the rest of her life. She raised a family, worked at Nestles and carried on her adventurous spirit in Fulton, NY. Betty had such a passion for life and made the best of every situation. She loved to dance, yodel, play guitar, travel, camp, and was a wonderful cook. She looked forward to her country line dance classes, entering recipe contests, loved trivia, and writing poems. She enjoyed picnics and being with family. She made Christmas magical for everyone and was the most special Wife, Mother, and Grandma. Betty was predeceased by her granddaughter, Reneé Thumm.

She will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Donald Ballard Jr.; five children, Gail (Ron) Hilton, Cathy (Mark) France, Douglas (Kelly) Ballard, Thomas Ballard, and Jeffrey (Jane Lamie) Ballard; nine grandchildren, Patricia, Chrissy, Brandon, Laurie, Travis, Tanner, Celia, Ashley, and Brianna; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Patsy Lenhart; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 11am – 1pm on Friday, August 9th at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
