Wednesday, October 18, 2017John and I were roommates that first year of law school. Bright funny welcoming and generous. My fondest memory is when Red Klotz called and asked John to join the Generals for a holiday game against the Globetrotters in Madison Square Garden...and John had me sit court side with the team as an "the first ass't ball boy." My my best wishes to Mary and the entire family. Ken P.

Thursday, October 12, 2017Appearing many times before Judge Elliott, he was a kind gentlemen. Many occurring in my early years of practice, I learned what to do and say & of course what not to do & say. Some of those lessons came from the good Judge Elliott. To that, my appreciation & gratitude can not be adequately expressed. My condolences to the family! AJD

Wednesday, October 11, 2017I had the honor and privilege of appearing before Judge Elliot on several occasions and remember him for his wisdom, insight and sense of humor. His knowledge of the law and common sense approach resolving disputes was in my view unsurpassed. I also recall reminiscing with him about his experience as a player with the Washington Generals.

Wednesday, October 11, 2017To Mary and family, I am very saddened to learn of John's death. Although we lost touch over the years, mainly due to his being in Oswego County and I being in Onondaga County, I always considered him a very close friend. In our younger years we played tennis together, he got me a racquet I wished for, and I watched him play professional basketball against the Harlem Globetrotters. He was truly an exceptional athlete. I marveled at his athletic ability. It was a wonderful coincidence that he married one of my LeMoyne College classmates. We first came in contact when I was an Assistant District Attorney in Onondaga County and he was practicing law. Later he became an outstanding lawyer, prosecutor and Judge in Oswego County, and he added another coincidence by hiring my former law office paralegal/adminstrator, Pam Ginnelly to work for him during his judicial tenure. I became aware of his failing health, but hoped it would not be life threatening. I wish that life had kept us more in touch, but he was often in my thoughts. My very deepest condolences.
