Elaine P. Violando, 73, of Bowens Corners, passed away on October 13 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Born Elaine Rose Parker on November 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Alton and Gelia Kling Parker. Elaine graduated from Boonville High School in 1961 and then attended Alfred University. On June 1, 1963 she married Dale Elwood Violando where her father presided over their wedding in Hamilton, NY. Elaine retired in 2013 from Peerless Insurance Company in East Syracuse. She had previously worked at Hanover Insurance Company in Syracuse and Black Clawson in Fulton. Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Dale in 1991; brother, William C. Parker in 2004 and her lifelong friend, Patricia A. Spencer of Boonville in 2013.
Surviving are her children, Catherine Violando of Liverpool, Lisa (David) Tice of Fulton, Cheryl (Bud) Johnson of Fulton and Michael (Edwin) Violando of Halfmoon; five grandchildren, Brandon Michael Tice, Emily Rose Tice, Sean-Michael Violando, Mark Johnson and Rachel (Matt) Schooley; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Genevieve and William Schooley; many nieces and nephews as well as her extended family and friends at Mimi’s in Fulton.
Calling hours are Tuesday, October 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Burial will be private.
