Obituary of Reba Z. Peenstra January 31, 2017 Reba Z. Peenstra, 97, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Seneca Hill Manor, where she has resided for the last 14 years. She was born on May 21, 1919, in Floyd, a daughter to the late Seymour and Zeona Collins Johnson. After 32 years of service, she retired from GE Electric in Syracuse. She was member of the Electronets, Howlett Hill Presbyterian Church and enjoyed helping out with the Brownies and Girl Scouts. Reba loved to travel, go camping and fishing in Sandy Pond and 1000 Islands. Reba worked in the gift shop at Seneca Hill and was the unofficial greeter with her sparkling slippers. She was predeceased by her husband, Stuart Peenstra; two sisters, Ruth Bobenhausen and Claribel Whipple; step-brother, Alvin Gates; niece, Arlene Goodell; nephew, Don Lee and step-grandson, Greg Lischak. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her two daughters, Barbara J. (Jim Bassinger) Kuss of Fulton and Betty P. Gutchess from Baldwinsville; son, Edward W. (Linda) Peenstra of Marietta; seven grandchildren, John (Kathi) Lischak of Tully, Kara (Bob) Tucker of Marietta, Sherri Jordan of Leland, NC, Scott (Tracie) Gutchess of Marietta, Mark Gutchess of Syracuse, Jennifer (Walt) Zinn of Marcellus and Stuart (Kristin) Peenstra of Skaneateles; three step-grandchildren, Sandra (Bob) Carey of East Greenbush, Donna (Tony) Ruotolo of Averill Park and Walter (Barbara) Lischak of Berlin, MD; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Mom, I thank you for blessing me with your love and guidance that has followed me throughout my life. I also thank God for giving me so many years to enjoy with you, Loving you always, Barb. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Howlett Hill Cemetery, Howlett Hill Rd., Camillus, 13031. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activity Fund at Seneca Hill Manor, 20 Manor Drive Oswego, New York 13126 in Reba’s memory.
