Obituary of George F. Kempston George F. Kempston, 70, of Fulton, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 1 at Oswego Hospital in Oswego. A native and life resident of Fulton, he was a son of the late Robert and Geneva Lavere Kempston. George retired from the V.A. Medical Center Hospital in Syracuse working with the buildings and grounds staff. He had previously worked for Owens-Brockway, Reynolds Metals and Miller Brewing Co. all in Fulton and General Electric Co. in Liverpool. George was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Fulton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War receiving the Bronze Star Medal for heroic service in combat. George enjoyed collecting and driving his two Chevy Corvette cars and camping. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Dee Kempston of Fulton; a daughter, Kerry Kempston (Kyle Vincent) of Fulton; grandchildren, Alexis, Karsen and Kylee; siblings, Marcia Kempston, Mary (John) LeGrand, Loretta (Bob) Vayner, Walter (Tona) Kempston, Ann (Mike) LaRock and Teresa Kempston; sisters-in-law, Bette Kempston, Gloria Kempston and Diana Washeleski; many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Andrew Conn. He was predeceased by brothers, Richard, Louis and Robert Kempston. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 5 at Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY. Services will be private with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton in the spring.
