Donald L. Cook, Sr., 61, of Fulton, died Monday. Born in York Beach, Maine, he was a life resident of Fulton. Don retired in 1994 as a truck driver for Northern Aggregates in Fulton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Don was an avid fisherman. He was predeceased by a daughter, Brandy Lynn Cook, who died in 1975. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Sandra K. Gardner Cook of Fulton; two sons, Donald L. Cook, Jr. and Jonathan W. Cook both of Fulton; mother and step-father, Betty and Richard Miller of San Diego; brothers, Danny Robison of Arizona, Andrew Miller and Mark Miller both of Oswego; sisters, Yvonne “Sandy” Powers of Fulton, Debbie Robison of South Carolina and Jody Harris of San Diego; three grandsons, Brandon, Kevin and Kyle; four granddaughters, Sabrina, Alexis, Stephanie and Chelsea; two great-grandchildren, Abby and Ciara; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.

Raymond F. Best, the son of the late Clarence and Mabel Best, passed away at his home on Monday. He was a lifelong resident of Fulton and was a graduate of Fulton Schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956 and had retired from Sealright, Inc. in 2006 after 44 years. Ray was a member of the Fulton Bowling Association Hall of Fame, an avid hunter, fisherman and bird watcher. He was a proud fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees sports teams. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Jeaneen Gray Best and his infant son, Mark Raymond Best. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth and Robert Best. Ray is survived by: his son, Roderick (Victoria) Best; his daughter, Melissa (Annette Lee) Best; one granddaughter, Michaela Best; his beloved dog, Toby. Calling hours will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Services will be private. Robert J. O’Mara, 81, of Granby, passed away Thursday at his daughter’s home. Born in Warners, he was a long time resident of the Syracuse area prior to moving to Granby. Bob retired from Pass & Seymour after 20 years. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed drafting, drawing and reading. He is survived by his wife, the former Marceline Sova of Granby; children, Donald O’Mara of Rochester, Linda Land of CA, Cathy Colvin of Granby, Richard O’Mara of Baldwinsville and David O’Mara of Cicero; a sister, Betty Olcott of Fayetteville; two brothers, Jack O’Mara of E. Syracuse and Donald O’Mara of MA; four grandchildren. Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Evelyn Lamont, 93, of Fulton, passed away at the home of her daughter on Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Born in Sweden, she came to the United States in 1916 and lived in Utica. She and her husband moved from Oswego to Fulton in 1942. A homemaker, she was an active, involved member of State Street United Methodist Church and her community. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick in 2001. Surviving are her daughter, Gail Chesbro of Fulton; her son, Gary (wife, Pam) of Delhi; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A calling hour will be held 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 with a 12 p.m. service to follow at State Street United Methodist Church, Fulton. Cheryl B. Keegan, 62, of Martville, died Thursday at University Hospital in Syracuse after a brief illness. A native of San Francisco, CA, she had resided in Alaska, Illinois and Oneonta before moving to Martville 15 years ago. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Robert Keegan, Jr. of Martville; four children, Kristy Pickett of Antwerp, Kurt Keegan of Jackson, MI, Robert (Jennifer) Keegan, III of Wichita Falls, KS and Jennifer Keegan of Oswego; her mother, Marian Fitzpatrick; sisters, Anne Reilly and Lauren Gardner; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Milford C. Benedict, 86, of Hannibal, passed away at home December 16, 2009. Milford was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #832, Rochester. He had owned and operated Benedict Excavating in Granby from 1959 until 1978. He was a hard worker and enjoyed construction work. Milford is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Pinney Benedict; a son Gary (Arlene) Benedict of Hannibal; a daughter, Denise (Gary) Broadwell of Hannibal; three brothers, Richard, Earl and Carl Benedict, all of Florida; grandchildren, Gary, Jr., Jim and Melissa Benedict, JoAnne and Jason Broadwell, all of Hannibal; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Donald D. Finch, 64, of Pennellville, died Sunday at home. Born in Syracuse, he was a resident of the Pennellville area for over 40 years. Don retired from Syroco in Baldwinsville after 40 years of service as a trouble shooter. Don loved gardening and growing flowers. He also enjoyed bowing and golfing. Don was predeceased by his parents, George and Blanche Finch as well as 11 siblings. Surviving: his wife of 31 years, Patricia Finch: children, Julie (Rodney) Hillerich of Florida, Lori (Kenny)Watson of Florida, Colleen (Dan) Bergman of Fulton, Gary (Jessie Sue) Smart of Fulton and Bobbie Jo (Dan) Bowman of North Syracuse; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Harp of Solvay and Midge Lane of North Rose. Adolph Barone, 95, of Hannibal, died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital. Mr. Barone was a Doorman with Rudin Management in New York City for several years. Nina E. Fielding, 94, of Fulton, died Saturday. A native of Cleveland, NY, she resided in Fulton most of her life. Nina was a member of Elizabeth Chapter #105 O.E.S. in Fulton and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was predeceased by her husband, of 65 years, Harold A. “Art” Fielding, Jr. in 2004. Surviving are her children, Rachel Fielding of Cape Vincent, Susan Fielding of Fulton and Harold A. (Mary) Fielding, III of Fulton and a step-grandson, Victor Rowland of Fulton. Services will be private with burial at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton. There will be no calling hours.
