Dorothy E. George, 69, of Fulton passed away Friday at Oswego Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Loren L. George; two sons, Loren H. (Bonnie) George of Oswego and William (Dena) George of Fulton; five daughters, Theresa George and Linda Flick both of PA, Tracy Breckenridge and Rose Schultz both of Fulton and Lillian Laribee of Oswego; brother-in-law, Henry George of Fulton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, with a service to immediately follow at 11 a.m.

Kermit E. LaBarge, 88, of Fulton, died Friday at Seneca Hill Manor, Oswego after a long illness. A native of Norwood, he had resided in the Fulton area most of his life. Kermit retired in 1987 from the Nestle Company in Fulton after 40 years. He was a member of State Street United Methodist Church in Fulton; Hiram Lodge #144 F.&A.M. in Fulton; Valley of Syracuse, Scottish Rite; Whango Grotto in Oswego and had been active in Oswego County Barber Shop Quartets. Kermit was an Army veteran of World War II and member of V.F.W. Post 569 in Fulton.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Martin LaBarge; daughter, Patricia LaBarge Ware and brothers, Keith and Robert LaBarge. Surviving are his son, Donald (Veronica) LaBarge of Fulton; two grandchildren, Kristin LaBarge and Donald (Amy) LaBarge, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and MacKenna; a brother, Gordon LaBarge; sister in-law, Beverly LaBarge and several nieces and nephews.

Manford Michael Lehne, 54, of Sterling, died November 21, 2009 after a long illness. Born in Fulton, he was a lifelong resident of Sterling. Manford graduated from Red Creek Central School in 1973 and the National Hardwood Lumber Inspection School in Memphis, TN in 1980. He was an avid reader, enjoyed music and his sense of humor was uplifting to his family and friends. Manford was predeceased by his parents, Manford Charles Lehne and Eleanor Ames Lehne. Surviving are: two sisters, Patricia Cooper Maxon of Sterling and Priscilla Kittren of Hannibal; one brother, Peter Lehne of Sterling; three nephews and two nieces. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church, Route 104, Martville. There are no calling hours. Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal has charge of arrangements.

Augusta Fuller Ford Crosser, 94, of Syracuse, formerly of Fulton, passed away Tuesday. She was born in Fulton and was a homemaker. Augusta was predeceased by her first husband, Fred A. Ford in 1970; her second husband, Tom Crosser in 1986 and a daughter, Jeannette McDermott in 2001. She is survived by three daughters, Joy F. Geer of Punta Gorda, FL, Diane A. (Nelson) Lansing of Bridgeport and Hollie J. (John) DeCarlo of Syracuse; one son, William E. Ford of Bridgeport; 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday with a 12 p.m. service to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Burial will be at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton. Shirley J. Edwards, 89, of
Fulton, died November 20, 2009. A native of Oswego, Illinois, Mrs. Edwards lived in Mexico and Fulton most of her life. She retired from General Electric Company, Liverpool and had worked at Sealright Company, Fulton. Mrs. Edwards was a member of State Street United Methodist Church, Fulton. She was a former member of the Harmony Riders Western Riding Club, Parish. Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by her husband, William C. “Shorty” Edwards, who died in 1991.
Surviving are: two sons, Douglas (Linda) Edwards of Hannibal and David Edwards of Granby; three grandchildren, Lori (James) Reitmeier of New Haven, David Edwards, Jr. of Fulton and Daniel (Melissa) Edwards of Granby; four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Holly Reitmeier, Hannah and Olivia Edwards; three nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.

Janice Fay Ludington passed away on November 20, 2009 at the age of 89. Mrs. Ludington was a Fulton native and the daughter of Elon K. and Gertrude C. Rowlee. A 1941 graduate of Syracuse University, Mrs. Ludington also attended Ithaca College and SUNY Oswego for graduate school. Mrs. Ludington was a Speech Therapist in the Fulton School System for many years. She was a member of Zeta Phi Eta speech honorary society; the New York State Retired Teacher’s Association and past president of Friends of the Library in Fulton. She was the oldest living member of the 1909 Shakespeare Society. Mrs. Ludington wrote and directed the official historical pageant for the Sesquicentennial Celebration of the City of Fulton. Most recently she would be remembered as the author of the Fulton Patriot’s weekly column titled “That Reminds Me”.
Mrs. Ludington was a member of the First Universalist Church of Central Square. She was a past president of the church board and was also board secretary for several years, as well as being a lay speaker.
Mrs. Ludington was predeceased by her first husband, Wilber F. Fay and her brother, Clyde E. Rowlee. Surviving are her husband, Ramsey G. Ludington; three daughters, Trudy Duisenberg (David) of Chico, California, Lynne Suljic of Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada and Faith Timerson (Robert) of Constantia; a son, Gene F. Fay (Sarah) of Fulton; two step children, Marion Ciciarelli (Donald) and Judge Spencer Ludington (Anne) both of Fulton; four sisters, Jane Shaver, Elaine Knight, Judy Howard and Adele Sheldon all of Fulton; a brother, Kevan Rowlee of Georgia; grandchildren include Hope Shapiro of San Jose, California, Garth Penkala of Chico, California, Tanya Suljic of Los Angeles, California, Ivan Suljic of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Luke Timerson of San Diego, California, Kathryn Timerson of Wilmington, North Carolina, Morgan Murray and Rachel Fay both of Fulton; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Susan L. Haste, 61, formerly of Fulton, passed away Thursday at her home in Salisbury, MD, surrounded by her family. Raised in Fulton, she was a 1966 graduate of Fulton High School and 1967 graduate of Powelson Business Institute. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Susan worked at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital as an Administrative Assistant for 17 years and had then worked at North Medical Group for two years. In 2005, Susan and her husband Cliff moved to Salisbury, MD where she loved going to the ocean, fishing, golfing and enjoyed watching the wild ponies on Assateague Island. Susan had also worked part time at The Country House in Salisbury. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love and devotion to her family could never be measured in words. Her smile lit up the room and her wit and wisdom will always be remembered by those who loved her. She was predeceased by her father, Fred Livingston and brother, Mike Livingston. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Cliff Haste; her four children, Francis Sean Haste (Lynn) of Fulton, Kelly J. Wallace (Kevin) of KY, Shannon M. Burrell (Allen) of CA and Tara Jean DePuy (Scott) of Fulton; 12 grandchildren, Kristina, Ryan, Jacob, Steven, Alek, Scotty, Samantha, Casey, Sarah, Madison, Olivia and Devon; her mother, Myrlene Livingston, her sister, Sally Wilkins, and her brother, Jack Livingston all of Fulton; two nieces and one nephew. Memorial calling hours will be 12 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2 pm at the funeral home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Harvellon F. Lehtonen, 67, of Palermo, died November 19, 2009. Born June 1, 1942, he was the son of John and Bessie (Wilmont) Lehtonen. Harvellon was employed at Armstrong/Interface Solutions in Fulton for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the Navy, Army National Guard and Air National Guard with an accumulation of 20 plus years of service. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #369 in Mexico and an active member of the Mexico Trail Riders Snowmobile Club. Harvellon enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Howard; a sister, Ruth and a grandson, Bryan. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Janet (Kellogg) Lehtonen; daughter, Brenda Hillman of Mexico; sons, David Lehtonen of North Carolina, Paul (Paula) and Kristopher (Jodi) Lehtonen all of Mexico; sister, Geraldine Diffenbacher of Pennsylvania; brother, Carl Lehtonen of Central Square; mother-in-law, Adeline Kellogg of Hannibal; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. Charlotte Terpening, 77, of Ira, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at home with her loving family by her side. Charlotte was the daughter of Loren and Stella Baldwin and was born, raised and lived her life in the Ira area. She graduated from Cato-Meridian Central School in 1950. She married Raymond W. Terpening on June 9, 1951. Charlotte worked at General Electric, Crouse Hinds and retired from Eagle Comtronics after many years of dedicated employment. Charlotte was hard working, determined and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Every morning she would leave for work at 4 a.m. only to return home in the afternoon to prepare the evening meal and care for her husband, five boys and eventually for her sons’ families as well. Charlotte was the pillar of her family and will be greatly missed. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Raymond, who died in 2007. Surviving are her five sons, Jeffrey (Robin) of Garden Valley, CA, Steven (Connie), Kevin (Joan), Scott (Andrea) and Darren (Mary) all of Ira; adopted daughter and lifelong best friend, Pat (Ron) Laxton; several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merton (Mary) and William (Gertrude) Baldwin; several nieces and nephews.
