Daniel “Festus” J. Cable, 58, of Fulton, died Monday at home. Born in Fulton, he was a life resident. Daniel was employed by Catholic Charities for the past 5 years. He was a member of B.P.O.E. # 830 in Fulton. Daniel enjoyed golfing and woodworking. He was predeceased by his parents, Byron and Aldona Cable. Surviving: daughter, Danielle Cable of Liverpool; granddaughter, Rylee Spencer of Fulton; brother, Thomas Cable of FL; former wife, Shirlee Cable of Fulton; several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Fulton Elks Lodge # 830, 57 Pierce Drive, Fulton. Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 365 West First Street, Fulton, 13069. Judith A. Cole, 88 , of Fulton passed away Saturday at Rosewood Heights Health Center in Syracuse. Born in Fulton, she was a life resident. She owned and operated Julie’s Boutique in Fulton for 15 years. Julie enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband Robert T. Cole, who passed away in 1962 and by two brothers, Victor and Ernest Chiarella. Surviving: a daughter, Mary Lou (Thomas) Fadden of Oswego; a son, Curtis Cole of Fulton; two sisters, Florence Castaldo of Oswego and Mary Murray of Baldwinsville; four grandchildren, Joslyn, Nathan, Nicholas and Kelsey; several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, Fulton.

Wayne Parsons, Sr., 65, of Oswego passed away August 28, 2009. He was born in Hannibal on November 10, 1943 to the late Eleanor Norris and Wayne Parsons. Wayne was an O.T.R. truck driver for 45 years until 2008. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his pets. Wayne is survived by his wife Lynda McQuaid Parsons of Oswego; six children, Wayne (Sharon) Parsons, Jr., Pollie Hasbrouck, Connie (Jerry) Deary, Michael (Donna) Parsons, Diane (Tony) Palone and Heather (Chris) Ferrante; a sister, Carol Buck; a brother, Gary Parsons; step-children, Cathy (Herb) Hingley, Steve Clark and Johnnie Clark; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services are private. Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal has care of arrangements.

Nelson R. Darling, 84, of Hannibal, died Sunday at The Manor at Seneca Hill. Born in Fulton he was a life resident of Hannibal and had wintered in Zephyrhills, FL for the past 21 years. Nelson was broker and owner of Darling Real Estate and had previously owned and operated a dairy and fruit farm in the town of Hannibal. He was an active member of the Hannibal Community Church where he served as Treasurer, Elder and Sunday School Teacher. Nelson had previously served as Town Justice in Hannibal for over 20 years and had previously served as Treasurer for the Hannibal Village Cemetery. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Harry Darling. Surviving: his wife of 63 years, Juanita Darling of Hannibal; daughter, Janet (Tom) Hall of Boyce, VA; son, Milferd (Brenda) Darling of Hannibal; two granddaughters, Kimberly (Eric) Kronenwetter and Corinne (Peter) Williamson; three great-grandchildren, Jakob Kronenwetter, Mary and Max Williamson; two sisters-in-law, Alice Donabella and Ruth Darling; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 5th at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal. Burial will be at Hannibal Village Cemetery. Jean M. Smith, 85, a life resident of Fulton, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Sunday at Oswego Hospital after a long illness. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church and was recently attending the Oswego Alliance Church. Her passion was cooking, baking and taking care of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, of 52 years, Joseph J. Smith, who passed away in 2004. Surviving are: her sons, Gary J. (Stacey) Smith of Fulton and Randy J. Smith of Volney; two grandchildren, Carol Jean Smith of Fulton and Greg Foederer of Lacona; two sisters, Mary Lou (William) Randall of Palermo and Anne (John) Brokaw of Utica; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton with burial at Mt. Adnah Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Helene Simon Pfahl or “Deedo” to her friends and family, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, August 23rd having been in a coma since August 10, 2009. Born in Ulmet Germany on September 24, 1919, she was the daughter of Rudolf and Matilda Simon. Helene had resided in Fulton since 1943. She was very active in supporting the local community, senior groups and State Street United Methodist Church. Helene enjoyed being active, participating in early Red Cross programs; as a Boy and Girl Scout Leader; as a member of the Fulton, Granby, Phoenix and Volney Senior Citizens as well as taking part in many Oswego County senior activities. She was also a member of the Fulton Historical Society and the Fulton Garden Club. Helene loved to travel and enjoyed organizing many senior citizen trips. Helene always showed a creative flair and a loving heart and was appreciated and loved by all.
Helene was predeceased by her husband, Otto W. Pfahl, Sr., who died in 2000. As the last of her family’s generation she is survived by her daughters, Martha and Charlotte; her son, Otto, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Hilda, Todd, Erik, Ritchie, Jann, Steven, John and Amber; ten great-grandchildren, Alexis, Natalie, Joshua, Kimberlee, Chelsea, Jonathan, Jordan, Michaelene, Benjamin and Allison; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 28th at State Street United Methodist Church, 357 State Street, Fulton. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Madeline K. Wilcox, 90, of Fulton, died August 19, 2009 at Oswego Hospital. A native of Fulton, Mrs. Wilcox was a life resident. She had worked at Ritchie Chemical & Equipment, Inc. in Fulton for four years. She had previously worked at DeLine’s Grocery, Fulton, in the meat department for several years. Mrs. Wilcox was a member of Bowens Corners United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, David R. Wilcox, who died in 1981, sisters, Ida Powers and Bernice Austin and a brother Floyd Ware.
Surviving are: a son, David L. Wilcox of Fulton; a daughter, Arleen A. Darling of Fulton; two sisters, Margaret Ritchie and Jessie Powers both of Fulton; a brother, Kenneth Ware of Fulton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Bowens Corners United Methodist Church with burial at Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander. Calling hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Earl “Skip” Shepard, Jr., 53, of Granby died Thursday at home after a long battle with colon cancer. A native of Fulton, Skip was a life resident of the Granby area. He worked at Birdseye Foods, Inc., Lowes in Oswego and Nestle Company for 27 years in Fulton. Skip had a love for football, fishing, hunting, playing cards, holidays and taking care of his family and friends. He was a good storyteller relating stories that were actually true and make you laugh.
Skip was predeceased by his father, Earl Shepard Sr. and stepfather, Solomon Tallent. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly (Ekross) Shepard; his son, Matthew (Nicole) Shepard of Amherst; twin granddaughters, Alexis and Miranda and grandson, Nicholas all of Granby; his mother, Madeline (Keith Sanford) Shepard of Granby; a brother, Duane (Peggy) Shepard of Hannibal; three sisters, Carol (Tom Muroski) Lamson of Oswego, Sharon Shepard of Hannibal and Kimberly Shepard of Central Square; two step-brothers, Charles Tallent and Bobby (Pam) Tallent; two step-sisters, Karen (Randy) Armstrong and Joyce (Brian) Klock; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 22nd with a 4 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Reverend Mark D. Kimpland will officiate. Margaret J. Tobin, 90, formerly of Fulton, passed away Sunday at Pontiac Care and Rehabilitation Center in Oswego. Born in Minetto on December 23, Margaret was a life resident of the Fulton area. She enjoyed antiques, researching local and family history and going to auctions. She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Plummer, who passed away in 1969, her second husband, Thomas Tobin, who passed away in 1972 and a son, Leland Plummer, who passed away in 1944. Margaret is survived by two sons, David Plummer of Florida and Thomas Tobin of Fulton; a daughter, Deanna (Harvey) Hall of Fulton; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are in the care of Foster Funeral Home, Fulton.

Agatha E. “Gay” Zellar, 89 of Fulton went to be with the Lord on Friday at home. Born in Syracuse, Gay was a long time resident of the Fulton area. She was a member of the former First Congregational Church in Fulton. Gay enjoyed the change of the seasons. She also enjoyed reading. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Zellar, who died in 1993. Gay is survived by her daughter, Dona (Phil) Karns of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends. According to Gay’s wishes, all services will be private.
