Mary T. Scanlon, 80, of Hannibal, died Tuesday at Oswego Hospital. Born in Fulton to the late Gabriel and Teresa DeMouro she was 23 year resident of Hannibal. She had worked at Cato Show Print as a Quality Control Inspector and Montgomery Wards in Fulton. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal. She had volunteered for Catholic Charities in Fulton, the nutrition center in Hannibal and the food pantry at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal. She was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her volunteer service. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, camping, fishing and gardening. Mary loved to email and chat with her friends on her computer. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Ann Scanlon who died in 1997. Surviving: her husband of 59 years, George Scanlon, Sr.; five children, George M. (Michele) Scanlon, Jr. of Greece, Ronald E. (Sharon) Scanlon who is stationed in the Philippines, Mark A. Scanlon of Hannibal, Leo P. (Debbie) Scanlon of Adams and Diana Scanlon-Mcdonald of Volney; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 2, at the family home, 174 Brown Road, Hannibal. Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal has charge of the arrangements.
