Jessie M. Stupp, 84 of Umatilla, FL died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Tavares, FL. Born in Cato, she moved to Lake County, FL many years ago. Jessie and her husband Charles had owned and operated Jacob’s Gas and Oil in Fairdale for many years. She had previously worked at Schuyler Potato Chip Company in Cato. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Charles G. Stupp who died February 16, 2005 and by a son, John C. Stupp who died August 9, 2010; siblings, George, Kenneth, Raymond, Charles, Frank, Martha and Mildred. Surviving: daughters, Sharon Smith of Umatilla, FL and Linda Wright of Hannibal; a brother, John Simons of Weedsport, sisters, Ruth Chapman of Camillus and Lillian Shaben of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Saturday 2 to 4 p.m. with a 4 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal. Spring burial will be at Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.

Evelyn L. Briggs, 92, formerly of Fulton, died February 15 in Deltona, FL. A longtime resident of Fulton, Mrs. Briggs had resided in Florida for many years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church in Deltona. Mrs. Briggs was predeceased by her husband, Thornton J. Briggs, who died in 2003 and by her son, Theodore J. Briggs, who died in 1983. She is survived by her sons, Keith L. Briggs of Orlando, FL and Brian C. Briggs of Vermillion, OH; a sister, Maryel Whipple; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. There are no calling hours. Spring graveside services will be private. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton has charge of arrangements.

On Tuesday, February 15, 2011 surrounded by her children, Isabelle R. Combes peacefully departed this earthly world to begin her journey with her heavenly husband, Raymond who predeceased her on February 8, 1981 and son Robert in 1957. Born to Verna and Francis Tallman of Martville on November 26, 1929, Isabelle met and married Raymond in Martville on July 20, 1950, a union lasting 31 years. She then became a proud and loving mother to her children, grandchildren and a foster child. Prior to retiring from Comstock Foods of Red Creek, she had worked more than 25 years at Cato Show Print until its closing. Isabelle was a loving, loyal and hardworking friend to many. She will be deeply and sadly missed.

Surviving are her children, Rae Marie Combes of Oneida, Diane (Rick) Mace, Bernice Hendricks and Brenda (Griff) Warren all of Oswego, Raymond (Cynthia) Combes and Darlene (Percy) Shaw all of Hannibal, Mark (Patti) Combes of Fulton, Mike (Dawn) Combes of Hannibal and Jim Tallman of Oswego; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; step grandchildren; a great great-grandchild; several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday, 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 7 PM with services to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal. Burial will be in the spring at Bethel Cemetery, Hannibal. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses on A Wing at Sunrise Nursing Home in Oswego for the love and care given to their mother during her four year stay.
